Into the eyes I love

When I look into the eyes I love I see hopes and dreams fulfilled, I see majesty and grace with flickers of sunshine that brighten my day. When I look into the eyes I love I see perfection in their flaws beauty in their light and strength in their wisdom. When I look into the eyes I love I see patience and fight a will stronger than the literal force of light for in those eyes are sometimes pain, anguish and disappointment but yet they shine bright, around their edges are lines from happiness and joy for in those eyes you can actually read a story for the depth of the soul they are connected to is pure and bright. It shines like an eternal light so when I look into the eyes I love I smile for the person they are connected to is me and that’s no lie for the eyes that I love God gave them to no other but me!

How Deep is our Love

In retrospect our love is as vast as an ocean but the depths cannot be measured for the emotions that I feel for you are tethered to my soul. It swept me up like a tidal wave where I was gasping for breath your love became all I needed it surrounded me like a hug and it burned me like the hottest fire I can’t explain the feeling of love I have for you because those words have never been spoken in this lifetime, when you are away I feel lost and aloft because your nearness calms my soul, when I hear your voice my very being becomes wrapped in shreds of light. Some may ask how deep is our love it’s so deep that even in darkness so black that all is consumed your very love shines in the deepest parts of me and I can always find you no matter where you are or who your with our love always brings us back home.

New Year New You the Irony of it all!

 In light of the changing year, we all come to the conclusion that we must change different aspects of our lives or better ourselves in some way whether it be weight loss, decluttering our homes, changing careers, or searching for love we all dedicate ourselves to the process of growth and newness. I always wonder why we must wait until a certain time of year to make purposeful changes in our lives. Life doesn't stop because it's not January 1st and it darn tooting ain't going to wait for you to show up so why do we put time frames on evolving into better versions of ourselves.  What is it about our nature that holds us back from seizing moments that can change our lives? In my case, it has always been fear I tend to stay towards things and situations where I have a defined outcome and safety in the general routine of things. Mother vs Father in the single world?

 In light of the holidays of Mother's & Father's Day, I have seen some crazy talk among the natives and it is downright disturbing if you ask me. The question I pose is why we feel that one parental role outweighs the other, especially in the single community. Honestly, children need both parents to thrive in our society.  If we really look into it the narrative has changed a lot because I see a lot of single fathers holding it down and it may be even more challenging for them, especially in terms of getting any type of assistance if they need it due to the stigma behind grown men providing for their own households. Now, let's be clear there are a lot of fathers who do not do right by their children but still many who would risk it all for their offspring so let us celebrate those men.  Why does it have to be a competition between which parent is better or who deserves more credit?
