What other's can't see may still hurt them.

 In light of the Oscars and the altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock we find that old trauma in which Mr. Smith had not dealt with brought about an unfortunate out burst of emotional rage against Mr. Rock due to a joke pertaining to his wife Jada. If you have read Mr. Smith's book in the early chapters he discusses how he felt himself a coward for not being able to protect is mother not just from physical abuse but verbal as well these feelings if not dealt with can feaster into greater emotional issues and these are issues of his childhood. So, to see his wife in pain from being verbally attacked triggered in him a response that was unfortunate and could of had far worst consequences. In the past several years we have witnessed a downward spiral in his marriage as well as his home life in general. I believe this is having a great affect on his mental and emotional state because even through he has an open marriage I believe the affair Jada had with August was unsuspected because he was a friend of the family and their children which would have meant to most he was off limits. So, to publicly have to deal with an affair he didn't know about and to have the public literally refer to him almost as cockhold  and fool due to the revelation of this affair has done more damage to him them most can even imagine because he LOVES his wife. Then to have his wife openly admit that he just doesn't really do it for her in the marriage bed anymore is a big slap in the face and a hit to his manhood and ego. All these things complied up is what brought about the altercation at the Oscars. In my opinion the Smith's have some serious issues to work out for their marriage is as toxic as a relationship can be and while one is seemingly thriving Mr. Smith is dying daily without a supporting hand to pull him out! So, please deal with the things others can't see trauma and pain bring about disaster if not dealt with and it will not just affect you but everyone connected with you!  In light of the changing year, we all come to the conclusion that we must change different aspects of our lives or better ourselves in some way whether it be weight loss, decluttering our homes, changing careers, or searching for love we all dedicate ourselves to the process of growth and newness. Mother vs Father in the single world?

 In light of the holidays of Mother's & Father's Day, I have seen some crazy talk among the natives and it is downright disturbing if you ask me. The question I pose is why we feel that one parental role outweighs the other, especially in the single community. Honestly, children need both parents to thrive in our society.  If we really look into it the narrative has changed a lot because I see a lot of single fathers holding it down and it may be even more challenging for them, especially in terms of getting any type of assistance if they need it due to the stigma behind grown men providing for their own households.
