Is it our job to try and change our mate?

 I don't believe that it is at all our job to change anyone when we love we should love that person as a whole the good the bad the ugly. I always say if I must change the person I am with for any reason they are not for me and I will not destroy another persons mate simply because I want what I want. I think a lot of times we have unreal expectations of our romantic mates and instead of building them up we end up tearing them down in a quest to help them quote unquote  better themselves. STOP trying to make individuals into your cookie cutter version of a mate and except them for who they truly are and experience the wonderful person in whom you say you fell in love with.


Can you say that you have truly fallen in love with someone in whom you want to change the answer is a clear no because that would mean you have fallen for someone in whom doesn't exists but except in your mind. The harsh reality is that getting to truly know someone can take a life time and that person will continue to evolve as time goes by we must remember that two very different people can have the most wonderful love story if only we except what is and love beyond pretense. 

The statement love conquers all is not necessarily the whole truth in terms of romantic relationships so we must understand it takes more than love to nurture a relationship it takes acceptance, patience, compassion, devotion, chemistry, sexual attraction, connection and understanding that in the worst of times when I feel like I can't stand to look at you my heart is still connected to you because we must understand that at the moment in which our hearts disconnect the relationship is over. 


So, let's strive to have relationships that are based off of unconditioned love no pretense, bull, or unrealistic expectation let's just enjoy the person God made, laugh, love & cherish one another life is to short to be unhappy & connected to dysfunction in any way let's grow up and have real adult relationships and get rid of youthful thoughts of love and affection and just simply let it be!!!

 In light of the changing year, we all come to the conclusion that we must change different aspects of our lives or better ourselves in some way whether it be weight loss, decluttering our homes, changing careers, or searching for love we all dedicate ourselves to the process of growth and newness. Mother vs Father in the single world?

 In light of the holidays of Mother's & Father's Day, I have seen some crazy talk among the natives and it is downright disturbing if you ask me. The question I pose is why we feel that one parental role outweighs the other, especially in the single community. Honestly, children need both parents to thrive in our society.  If we really look into it the narrative has changed a lot because I see a lot of single fathers holding it down and it may be even more challenging for them, especially in terms of getting any type of assistance if they need it due to the stigma behind grown men providing for their own households.
