Let Stress Go and Claim your Peace
In this fast pace society we live in it's hard to make time for yourself and let go of the everyday stress that boggles your life and that can be deadly. I have found that since I have gotten older my body deals with stress very differently than when I was in my twenties.
Stress now causes weight gain mostly around my middle section which increases my chances for a heart attack and or stroke. I deal with terrible headaches and body aches sometimes that literally can put me down for days. These symptoms magnify my underlying illness which is Lupus making fatigue and muscle pain unbearable at times so I had to find away to release the stress of my everyday life in order to secure the health of the future me.
Meditation is one of the greatest forms of releasing stress the deep breathing and clearing of ones mind does wonders for the body and it's a very easy practice. When I meditate I use that time to pray and connect with my creator. As I speak out loud the issues of my heart, life and my desires in those spoken affirmations I feel free, connected and empowered that someone higher than myself can hear and understand what others may not and has the power to release the stresses that I give to him.
I also, had to learn to change some bad habits that can add to the daily stress that I put on my body such as diet. This was very hard for me because I'm a foody I love sweets and treats so a drastic change wasn't going to work for me. I had to learn to substitute some of my favor treats for healthy ones.
An example would be I love peanut butter cookies so my substitution was peanut butter and pretzels with a side of apples for sweetness and I found that it really hit the spot and curbed my appetite.
I started drinking more water by adding sugar free sweeteners like Crystal light and investing in the new water bottle Cirkul which you can buy flavor cartridges to appease every pallet the water bottle can be ordered online or at your nearest Walmart for around $20 this helped me a bunch this is coming from someone who doesn't like water.
I pushed myself to get at least 30 minutes of exercise in a day whither it be cardio or just simple calisthenics workouts and I feel so much better.
Another great way to help with stress is starting a journal this helps not only with stress but with mental health as well.
Remember small steps to let go of stress can do a whole lot of good for you in the long run so lets help each other claim our peace through getting healthy, meditation and just taking a deep breath and saying I release any struggles and I allow myself to be in flow with my greater purpose. Until next time Love, Light & Blessings!
