I'd rather wait long than marry wrong, so let us stop loving the wrong person to long!

Image
In many cases we don't even know we are loving the wrong person because our ego and emotions can distort the reality of things so much so that we fail to see the damage we are doing not only to ourselves but to the individuals we claim to love. I have been found in this situation quite a few times and I have found that my loyalty to people is one of my biggest problems I have because if I love you or care for you deeply I never want to be the person that just walks away or causes harm so I will ride that thing out till the wheels fall off and what I have found out is that this is not always the answer we have to learn when it's time to move on before we cause more harm than good not only to ourselves but to others.       Love is a very tricky emotion and a lot of times we base it off of words never looking into the actions behind those words. I can say I love you a thousand times but if I can't ever put those words into action in the form of just being able to...

Are we giving people to many chances in love and relationship?

Image
Why are we so willing to give the wrong people so many chances to hurt and abuse us knowing that they don't value or really appreciate the love and grace that we are giving them. I found that when we don't really know our own self worth we are willing to accept love for hurt, betrayal instead of loyalty, lies instead of truth and disappointment instead of happiness. It's crazy how own our demons if not dealt with can affect our lives in more ways than we know.       Can I tell you that we can attract those who can sense our self doubt and our lack of love for ourselves and they attach themselves to us like leeches spiritual parasites and suck us dry of the very life force that we have left leaving us depleted, unsure of our selves even more than we already are and making us slaves to their bad behavior. We become a narcissist's dream they can feel us out and we never see them coming and it's so very hard to detach from these individuals.     I k...

With the changing of times has the expectations that women are judged by changing?

Image
In light of all the attention Lori Harvey is getting can we say that young women are still being held under wild expectations in terms of relationship goals? I don't agree with how we set such an unrealistic expectations for young women but not our young gentlemen. Lori Harvey is still quite young and the old notion where if you weren't married by twenty-five you are considered an old maid is outdated and just unrealistic in this day and age. I believe that if Ms. Harvey voiced early on in the relationship that she wasn't looking for marriage and to settle down than she was right to walk away from a man who wanted all the things she didn't. If you look at Ms. Harvey's track record you can see she clearly dates men who have problems committing in relationships which means she has a type ones who she feels are looking for the same thing a little fun and companionship nothing more.      What I believe may have happened and this of course is all speculation for none of...

Let's talk about issues that can literally shake a relationship to it's core!

Image
Being in a relationship and or marriage is hard enough as it is so we never want some issues to arise because it can literally be the end of the union. Money issues is one of the biggest issues couples face especially early on in a marriage. This is due partly to the fact that even if you have discussed financial issues and situations it hits differently when it actually arises and a financial pitfall is present. My husband and I were married around five years when he was physically disabled and unable to work at all and all the financial responsibility fell on me this was a very difficult situation because we had five children at home to provide for and never in a million years would I think that I would be working two full time jobs and a part-time job to keep our family afloat all why maintaining the other duties required of me at home. We all know we take those good vows on our wedding day that says for richer or poorer in sickness and in health but you don't know how hard tha...

Looking at a Strawberry Letter :How important is physical intimacy in a relationship?

Image
I was listening to Steve Harvey and the strawberry letter this morning and a young woman newly married is having issues with her husband wanting to be intimate with her on a regular bases both waited till their nuptials to engage in sexual intimacy and now the lack of it is causing a serious issue with this young woman's ability to connect with her husband. She has discussed with him on numerous occasions that she needs more from him in terms of intimacy and he dismisses her every time. She now feels that maybe he is not attracted to her and has done everything she knows to do to try and spark his interest to no aveil. He claims his parents didn't engage in much physical intimacy and he just doesn't need it all the time.  So, my question is how important do you think physical intimacy is in a marriage. And do you feel that the lack of physical intimacy can potentially result in the demise of the marriage even if every other factor of the marriage is intact? Here's my t...

Looking back at your romantic life would you take the same journey towards love?

Image
I often ask myself this question looking back through the years at my journey through love and the lessons I have learned. It's not that all my previous experiences with love were bad because they weren't I actually encountered some wonderful men who absolutely adored me it just came down to being the right person at the wrong time and I was unable to open myself up to the love and affection they were trying to bestow on me. And yes, you can definitely be with the right person at the wrong time in your life and it will be utter chaos not because you weren't meant to be but the timing was all wrong and maybe you hadn't dealt with your issues and still had a wall up like me or maybe you were in a time in your life where you weren't looking for a committed relationship and your partner was all in. We have to understand that timing sometimes is everything and if we go ahead of it or miss it all together we can lose out on the very love of our lives.       I conside...

Does a failed relationship stop you from looking for love again?

Image
When we think of past relationships and the start or finish there of do we think of happiness, pleasure, affection, pain, sorrow, lost time and regret. Do we let the issues from previous relationships stop us from thriving in a new relationship due to the knowledge of how it possibly may go. The answer is quite simply yes, let's talk about it! I'll go first sharing a little of my journey and the issues behind my reluctance with relationships & love.       I personally have been reluctant to be in long term relationships due to things I have experienced in love yes I want companionship, and a life partner but to what expense is what I am always asking myself. Sometimes I think I am just scared to open myself up to the potential of it not working out and causing even more damage than I could gather yet there is a part of me that wants very much to take that leap of faith. I am one who wholly believes in working out your issues before pursuing any type of rel...
